Curriculum
Professor at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, holding national qualification for the rank of Full Professor. A medical doctor specialized in Gynecology and Obstetrics, he completed a Ph.D. in Germ Cell Biology. He serves as Director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic at the Modena University Hospital and of the School of Specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
His work focuses specifically on Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, where he is involved in clinical programs in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), Fertility Preservation, Gynecological Endocrinology, Hysteroscopy, and conservative gynecological surgery. He coordinates a preclinical and clinical research group that over the years has achieved significant and internationally recognized advances in the field. In particular, his developments in methodologies for assessing ovarian reserve and their application to personalized therapy are now considered the international standard of care. The clinical activity he leads is widely acknowledged for its quality and effectiveness, as demonstrated by the high proportion of patients coming from outside the region.
Professor La Marca is regarded as a key opinion leader in Reproductive Medicine, as shown by his ongoing participation in advisory boards and committees drafting clinical practice guidelines. He has an extensive teaching record, lecturing in several degree programs and speaking at numerous national and international conferences. He is also active in academic publishing, contributing to multiple specialized journals and co-authoring numerous textbooks.
He is Editor-in-Chief of the international journal Minerva Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the author of numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles with top-rank bibliometric indicators at the national level.
He serves as Principal Investigator in numerous national and international clinical trials and provides specialist consulting for regional and national health authorities.
